Jeff received both a BS (Engineering Physics) and MS (Biomedical Engineering) from the University of Michigan. He also holds an MBA from INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France).

Jeff Slosar co-founded NextWave Ventures in 2010, successfully leading the growth of several companies in its Pilot Fund, ensuring the fund’s success within three years of initiation. Previously, Jeff served as an investor and interim President/CEO of several technology firms in the software, SEO, digital media, and energy sectors. He has also held research positions at NASA (shuttle communications) and the University of Michigan (brain cancer research). Jeff is experienced at growing technology companies from zero revenue to profitable private market exits in under 5 years and has experience with international expansion (EU, Asia).

Within NextWave, Jeff focuses on the overall strategic direction of the firm with specific emphasis on technology vetting, commercialization, product development, and negotiations.

Coaching one of my five kids’ sports teams. On a side note, I’ve never lost a T Ball game…mostly because they don’t keep score.

What is the best advice you’d give to founders?

The notion of “build it and they will come” only works in the movies.

What gets you excited about commercializing technologies?

There’s nothing copy-cat about it. It’s a new, highly creative process every time.

What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?

In college, I would go to the music hall on campus to do my homework while symphonies and operas practiced.
